An ambitious project in prestigious premises
Details on the main project website
Those dates are important throughout the entire application process and beyond.
All interested schools can now apply for the Parlement européen des lycéens 2025.
All applicants are informed no later than that day of the outcome of their application to participate in the PEL 2025.
All interested students from the selected schools can now apply for the Parlement européen des lycéens 2025. The number of places available per school is determined by the Oganisation Committee according to the quantity and quality of these applications.
The Organisation Committee informs the participating schools and students how many places have been allocated to the school and which students have been chosen.
The participating schools confirm the participation of the selected students and register them bindingly.
Additional data from the selected students is required. Participants define, among other things, their PEL preferences (for example which parties they wish to represent in the simulation of the European legislative process).
The Organisation Committee evaluates the follow-up forms and inform the participants about the results.
Students participate in the simulation of the European legislative process and the other parts of the PEL 2025 programme.
The final event takes place in the premises of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Let’s promote Europe (LPE) e.V. is a non-profit organisation. Participation fees are therefore only charged to cover the costs, the entire PEL Organisation Committee works as volunteers. The participation fee per student is divided into a base fee (74.94 €), an accommodation fee (159.82 € including half pension) and a lunch fee in Strasbourg (48.64 €). The base fee includes all general costs (e.g. IT infrastructure, certificates, materials). This fee covers not only the final event in Strasbourg, but also the entire digital preparation phase. The accommodation fee covers the accommodation of the students in Strasbourg in shared rooms from Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 March 2025. Breakfast and dinner are included throughout the stay. Students from educational institutions located in Strasbourg will of course not have to pay the accommodation fee. The lunch fee includes lunch for all participants during the final event in the restaurant of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 25 and 26 March 2025. The full participation fee per student is therefore € 283.40. For accompanying teachers, the base fee per person is €27.82, the lunch fee is €48.64 and the accommodation fee including half pension is €201.54 for accommodation in a double room. This therefore results in a participation fee of € 278.00 per accompanying teacher. For a single room, € 62.98 will be added (if requested). If financial assistance is needed, please get in touch — we’re here to help you find funding opportunities.
Let’s promote Europe (LPE) handles the organisation of the entire programme as well as accommodation and meals on site. However, the schools organise their own travel to and from Strasbourg. It is important, however, to respect the given time frame so that no parts of the programme are missed due to late arrival or early departure. The PEL Organising Committee will be happy to provide advice if needed.
When selecting participants, care is taken to ensure that they are familiar with the project languages to the extent that participation is possible without any problems. Participants must have a very good knowledge of at least one of the three official project languages (German, English & French) (min. level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - CEFR) and a basic knowledge of another project language (min. level A2/B1). During the digital preparation phase, all materials will be written and published in three languages. Most of the final event of the PEL in Strasbourg will be interpreted. In principle, however, the participants should also improve their foreign language skills and actively use their foreign language within the framework of the project. The participants therefore work in the digital preparation phase not only in their mother tongue, but mostly in bilingual groups, so that they also use their foreign language.
First, schools have the opportunity to apply for participation in the PEL. After that, the selection process for all interested pupils from the previously accepted educational institutions begins. In the course of this procedure, the pupils then express their interest in the project. The evaluation of the application forms is done by Let’s promote Europe (LPE) and in an anonymous way.
The participating pupils have the opportunity to think about European issues in a multicultural and multilingual environment, to discuss them and to propose solutions that will be heard at European level. In addition to enriching exchanges with participants from all over Europe, they discover new interests, develop important social and intercultural skills and become part of a diverse community that experiences the functioning of the European institutions and their relevance to the European decision-making process in a completely new way.
Participants should ideally be willing to invest a few hours per week in the project to ensure the best possible experience and successful participation. Particularly motivated students will find many opportunities within the PEL to show their commitment to exciting and enriching tasks.
Let’s promote Europe (LPE) takes all necessary steps to be able to carry out a hybrid or online edition if necessary. Thus, we can guarantee that the PEL 2025 will take place under all circumstances.
